Dual boot question
Does anyone know where I could download a Linux program and use a floppy to boot and then run Linux on a windows mach off a CD, so that I can try it out with out having to do a dual boot thing on my current machine. That would be Knoppix or one of it's derivatives. You can find it on www.knoppix.org.

Dual Boot the real double way?
The
main problem is, that while I could boot linux by using a diskette with a copy of lilo (and W2k by the usual way, using it's loader), the ntloader refuses to invoke lilo. At first, I didn't have /dev/hda4 partition, and tried to make ntloader invoke lilo by copying /dev/hda2 boot sector into W2K's root

"OS/2 unable to boot" - Resolved. It's FP14 FDISK!
There's no boot.ini but boot._ file under /i386. The file is binary anyway. What do you think? The question is weird. The boot._ file does not expand to boot.ini, it does in fact not at all expand with expand.exe. To me it looks as something other than a compressed boot.ini file. It is not applicable to want to

Boot Sector question
NT can be started using OS loader from W2K without many problems - it is not needed to switch boot sequence of controllers. You, however, need to have right OS definition records in boot.ini and right ntbootdd.sys driver file in case you are using scsi() notation of ARC() path for these records.

OS/2 and Linux dual boot
First,
go into your C:\ and remove the hidden and system attributes on boot.ini. Next, get a fresh floppy and copy (you can use an ME boot for this)these files to it from C:\: boot.ini ntldr ntdetect.com These are the W2k boot process files. Now try booting from that floppy, as is. (BIOS of course must look first
